Nero is an eight year old Norwegian elk hound that has made his home with Frank ever since he was a little puppy. Frank says he is very protective, but I got to say hello to this beautiful dog! And he jumped right up on the bench and "smiled" for the camera. According to Frank, jumping on the bench for a little rest stop is Nero's habit as they walk the trails.

Jovi is an adorable young pup, only three months old and just learning all the things dogs need to know. She was walking in the park with her person Corrine. You can see Corrine and her beloved beagle Tommy if you scroll down a ways in the gallery. Tommy is gone now, but not forgotten and still (and forever) very much loved.

Bailey is a very friendly 10 week old cockapoo, just learning to walk in the park and become socialized with other dogs and people. I don't think socialization will be a problem for Bailey because he is a very friendly little pup who repeatedly walked over to me and put his front paws up on my leg. I think he was saying, "Pick me up please!"

Champ is a young boxer, only four months old. He was walking in the park with Ashley and her friend Alise. Ashley said he needs to learn not to jump on people, but he is already pretty well-behaved for a young pup, and how could anyone resist that handsome face anyway?

Rebel is an English springer spaniel from England! According to Gary, he was a field trial dog, but his tendency to be a bit of a rebel got in the way of his training. Rebel will soon move back to Dubois, PA with his people, so I'm glad I got his photo for my gallery today. Isn't he a handsome fellow?

Louie is a three year old rescue dog that just came to his "forever home" with Beverly yesterday. I could tell he loves her already. At my request, she sat on the park bench for the photo op, and he put his paws up so she would lift him into her arms.

When Jack told me his dog's name is Cobra, I said, "Why?" Apparently it goes back to when he was a puppy. He would lay stretched flat out on the floor, making him look like a cobra. (I hope I got this story right. I was so taken by his amazing eyes, beautiful coat, and friendly demeanor, that I wasn't paying full attention to the details.)
