Christmas 2017
I was having camera trouble, so I only took a few pictures of our Christmas gathering this year. On Christmas Eve, Bob and I celebrated Christmas with Alison's and Becky's families at Becky and Marty's home, and, for the first time ever, we opened our gifts on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day Becky served a great brunch, and we relaxed all day until Bryan had to get to the airport. This was the first "white Christmas" in quite a few years, and the bad weather made Bryan's trip back to New York City much longer than it should have been. He reached his apartment with just enough time to change clothes and go to work on December 26th. Other than that, it was a peaceful holiday, celebrated with family. We even "facetimed" with Carrie at her apartment in Memphis.
When I was much younger, Bob and I would pack our girls and our first Springer Spaniel, Leo, into our VW squareback and drive several hundred miles to the home of my parents in Delta, Pennsylvania. My sisters and their families would join us there to celebrate the holiday. On Christmas Eve, we would go to a late service at the Methodist church on Main Street. I remember one wonderful evening, sharing some Christmas joy with our neighbors as we caroled our way through our little town to attend the midnight service. Good memories!
